SEMINAR ON ‘PURPOSEFUL PARENTING’ HELD IN ST. THERESA’S HIGH SCHOOL, BANDRA MUMBAI

In the era where students and children need guidance, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Primary Section of St. Theresa’s High School, Bandra, organized an insightful seminar on ‘Purposeful Parenting’ for the parents of students in the primary section on 20th and 21st February 2025. The session was conducted by Sr. Stevena Lobo, the esteemed Director of Navjivan, a renowned counselling centre run by the Daughters of St. Paul.
The resource person was welcomed by PTA vice-President Ms. Savita Nirmal afterwhich Principal welcomed the parents and handed over the session to the resource person.
The seminar aimed to equip parents with effective parenting strategies that nurture their children’s emotional, social, and intellectual growth. Sr. Stevena Lobo, with her vast experience in counseling and guidance, emphasized the importance of intentional and mindful parenting in today’s fast-paced world.
She spoke about the need for open communication, positive reinforcement, and setting healthy boundaries in raising well-rounded individuals. She also highlighted the impact of screen time, peer influence, and emotional intelligence on a child’s development. Through real-life examples and interactive discussions, she encouraged parents to be role models who inspire and guide their children with love, patience, and understanding.
The session was highly engaging and thought-provoking, leaving parents with valuable takeaways on how to foster a supportive and enriching home environment. Sr. Stevena addressed concerns and provided practical solutions to common parenting challenges.
The secretary of PTA of the Primary Section, teacher Meenal expressed heartfelt gratitude to Sr. Stevena Lobo for her enlightening session and to all the parents who actively participated. The event was a resounding success, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic education and strong parent-school collaboration.
